The McCall Folklore Society has over 30-years of history in presenting Long Valley's largest summertime festivals, known simply as The Summer Music Festival. The festival was originally held at the Alpine Playhouse in McCall and then at the University of Idaho Field Campus near Ponderosa Park for many years, but since 2004 has been held at the historic ghost town of Roseberry Idaho.
The McCall Folklore Society also holds smaller concerts, events and fund-raisers during other times of the year, bringing in single performers and small performing groups to help keep culture active during the off season. The McCall Folklore Society assumes that many of these events may not be profitable, but are in keeping with the Society’s love for live music alive! The Society’s ambition is twofold:
- To reach as broad and diverse an audience as possible
- To make high-quality live music accessible to all, regardless of economic status.
To this end, the society is committed to keeping admission prices to events as low as possible, typically free to $15 or less. Membership from individuals and businesses supports the organization. PEASE JOIN US!
